CHARLES FLAKE Dec 3, 1892 Arizona Silver Belt A special of Dec 8 to the Belt from Holbrook says that a double killing occurred at Snow Flake, apache County, on that day. Charles Flake of Flake Brothers was shot and killed by a cowboy whom he attempted to arrest. The cowboy, whose name is not given is said to have been the bank robber who got away with the funds of the San Marcial, N.M. bank. After Charles Flake was shot, his brother James and the cowboy exchanged shots at the same instant, without further damage than that James Flake's ear was perforated by the bullet from the antagonists gun. James Flake got in a second shot which killed the cowboy. The Flake Brothers keep a store and post office at Snowflake.
