Served in Confederate Army out of TX. Lived the past 15 yrs in Willcox. Interred in lot owned by J.F. Crowley. Well known as 'Uncle Tom'. Collins Johny 1890 He was a detective. He was a deputy sheriff in 1883. Saloon owner. Lumber business with F.H. Nichols. Beginning in 1902 he was for several years a U.S. Commissioner at Willcox. Superintendant of Willcox Cemetery. Notary public worked for cumulative credit company selling Diamond Certificate which paid $2 for every $1 invested when mature. Appointed manager of Willcox lighting, pumping, and ice companing plant. Book keeper for Lumber company. He married Anasrasia Nugent Miller. Her brother is a well known artist of NY. J. Oliver Nugent his two books, "Story Friends" and "Stonener Woods and Fields" were presented to Willcox School library. Cullen Edward H. DEC 1897 He was killed by Wells Fargo Detective Jenkens during a hold up attempt near Stein's Pass ( one of 4 masked men there.) Some thought they were part of Black Jack's gang. Cause of death: heart failure due to stress of husband's trouble with the law. Downing William(Bill) AUG 5 1908 Shot by Ranger William Speed in performance of his duty was the official verdict. Downing was recently discharged from Yuma Prison and was operating a 'notorious joint': "Free & Easy Saloon". Giving lawmen a bad time. Duncan John L. OCT 11 1872SEP 23 1899 Age was 26yrs. Killed on a Saturday by Wiley M. Morgan.. Per newspaper account dated 27 SEP 1899. Shot near Hooker's Hot Spring. Durgan Mrs. Ed Her Children: Mrs. R.J. Stark and Harve Easterday of Willcox and brother Mart Moore in Gleeson. Earp Warren Baxter1855JUL 6 1900Age was 45yrs. Killed on a dare by Johnny Boyett(Boyd) in a local saloon. Earp said to be unarmed at the time. Boyett/Boyd was a cowpuncher on a local ranch. Brother: Wyatt Berry Stapp Earp. Elmer John 3 OCT 1893 With Charles Henslee robbed the Globe stage.. Killing the messenger. These two were said to be members of the 'Red Jack' gang. Both were killed just outside Willcox by Pima County Sheriff, Bob Paul. Escobosa Ramon 2 month old infant died Sunday night at 12 o'clock after an illness of two days. The Funeral took place yesterday.(Tuesday 24 SEPT. 1895.)
