MRS. KATHERINE M. CARMICHAEL July 8, 1897 Last Saturday night the word was criculated that Mrs. Katherine M. Carmichael, a lady who had been an invalid for some time had committed suicide by taking morphine. On investiagation this was found to be the case. The deceased was 53 years of age and was a native of St. Louis, Mo. but had resided i nthis city for some time. She had been an invalid for a long time and several times had said she would do the deed which she at last committed. A post mortem examination was held by Drs. L.C. Toney and C.L. Edmundson and an inquest was held. The verdict returned was that the deceased came to her death from poison administered by her own hand, and by a complication of diseases. The remains were buried in the cemetery yesterday.
