MR. CONYERS Arizona Republican Newspaper December 19, 1898 Francis Conyers, who is charged with the murder of her husband, is on trial at Tombstone, a jury having been secured on Saturday. The people of Tombstone have accorded the accused the benefit of every doubt and placed credence in her statement that she is innocent of the crime. The murder was a mysterous one. The prosecution has been active and some important disclosures may be looked for, while the defense will endeavor to prove conclusively the innocence of the accused. Saturday marked the beginning of the case. A night session is probable. The public interest manifested is demonstrated by the crowded attendance in the court room.
