PRICE FERRIER Arizona Republican Newspaper December 18, 1898 Price Ferrier, a miner, was killed at the Holbrook shaft at Bisbee on Friday about 10 o'clock. He had pushed a car on the stage at the 400 foot level and started up the shaft but failed to drop the bar that holds the car on the stage. The car caught the timbers between the 200 and 300 foot level, tearing the bottom out of the cage and throwing Ferrier down the shaft to the bottom of the 500 foot level. He was probably dead before he fell as an iron pick that was on the car was jammed through his body. He was about 35 years old and single, had been in the employ of the company over a year. His brother was killed in the mines about two years ago.
