WILLIAM KING November 18, 1897 The Ariozna Range News on the subject of the late killing of Cowboy William King by Deputy Sheriff Alvord at Willcox says "Under the moral law, one who threatens the life of another is already guilty of murder. Hence while regretting all deaths from violence we cannot regard the taking of life by an officer to defend his own other than justifiable. This affair should be an effctive warning to persons who are made quarelsome by too frequent potations of alcoholic beverages. If a man renders himself insanely revengful by drink he is still accountable for the consequences of his acts."
