MRS. LOVETT May 2, 1897 The woman found dead in Sulphur spring Valley and reported to the Pearce authorities is said to be a Mrs. Lovett, who married here not a week since. It appears that the bridal couple had camped near the CCC Ranch and while Lovett was out hunting a rabbit for the noonday repast the bride of but a few days courted Morpheus through the aid of morphine and upon the return of her husband he found his better half dead. Beside her was a small vial of morphine which told the story the abrupt termination of the honeymoon was caused by an overdose of morphine. Mrs. Lovett was in the habit of using morphine and it is surmised she unintentionally took an overdose.
