MRS. MARGARET O'BRIEN December 30, 1897 Mrs. Margaret O'Brien, one of the earilest settlers in Willcox and well known by all the old timers of the second, died on Saturday. The old lady lived alone and was somewhat eccentric. She refused to have a physician until Col. H.C. Hooker, who sent her a Christmas turkey, learned of her condition and engaged D. Walter to attend. She was probably about seventy years of age. Soho Brothers provided handsome coffin and gave the remains a respectable burial. Nearly all the leading citizens of Willcox accompanied the funeral cortege to the cemetery, notwithstanding the interment took place on Christmas. Mrs. O'Brien leaves a married daughter, Mrs. Allen who is said to reside in Globe.
