OLGUIN Child September 9, 1897 Arizona Republican Newspaper A most distressing occurrence was the accident by which the 7 year old daughter of Jose Olguin met almost instant death at Wilcox Sunday afternoon. A frieght train was standing on a siding near the section house and just below it were some empty cars. While the frieght was waiting for No. 24 to pass, the little girl and a younger brother began playing on the track between the train and the detached cars. After the passing of NO. 24 the sidetracked train backed up for some purpose and was bearing down on the unsuspecting children when a passing woman saw the danger just in time to snatch the boy from death. The little girl attempted to escape but was caught and crushed beneath the cruel wheels.
