WILLIAM WOLVERTON Arizona Republican Newspaper December 14, 1895 A rumor, which could not be traced to any reliable source, was to the effect htat a Mexican had found the body of a man in the Whetone Mountains and those who had given credence to the rumor surmised that it may be the body of William Wolverton, who was lost some time since, and of whom nothing has been heard in Tombstone since he wondered off. No report of the matter has come to the authorities yet and the chances are it is but an idle tale.
