H.T. Burkett, private of Troop E., 1st Cavalry, accidentally 
shot and killed himself at 1 o'clock yesterday morning about 
a mile from San Carlos. He was under Lt. Adams with a 
detachment of soldiers who were after the Indian who killed 
the squaw and buck on Friday last.
