UNCLE JOHN HAYNIE Sept. 14, 1905 Az Silver Belt Uncle John Haynie, died at Paradise last Sunday from the effects of screw worms in his head. In response to a telegram Thomas H. Bell went to Paradise, but Mr. Haynie was dead before he got there. John Haymie was one of the oldest prospectors in Arizona. He came to this country in 1871 and was at Fort Grant when it was built. Prospect holes of his digging can be found in any part of the territory. For more than a dozen years he has pinned his faith to the Horse Shoe Mines north of Safford. Mr. Haynie was a native of Tennessee, 61 years old, September 1. He was an ex-confederate soldier.
