Mrs. Bertha Swanson Marshall Arizona Silver Belt June 23, 1896 Mrs. J.J. Marshall, nee Bertha Swanson, died last Friday morning about 2 o'clock, after a lingering and painful illness. Deceased had been a resident of Globe for many years and her chrisitan virtues and nobility of character had won her the esteem of all who knew her. Her husband and several faithful friends attended to her wants and did everything possible to assuage her suffering which she bore with christian fortitude. The funeral took place on Friday afternoon from the M.E. church and grave were most impressive. There were many manifestations amongst the audience of sympathy for the bereaved husband, and sorrow and regret over the loss of one who had been so highly regarded in the community.
