On Saturday last Mrs. C.E. Clendenin received the distressing 
news of the death of her mother, Mrs. G.W. Sharp at Florence.  
That morning Mrs. Clendenin had not been informed of the 
critical condition of her mother's health and therefore was 
wholly unprepared for the dread announcement.  She left on 
Sunday morning's stage for Florence, hoping to arrive in time 
for the funeral.  Mrs. Clendenin's many friends here sympathize 
deeply with her in her great bereavement.
