Dora Biglow Safford Arizona Silver Belt January 18, 1896 Dora, the 8 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Parley Biglow of Safford, was burned to death on Sunday the 6th. She was playing near the fire with her doll. The doll's dress caught fire and communicated to her own clothing. The little girl ran frantically into the road and threw herself into a ditch but there was not enough water to extinguish the flames and her sister procured a bucket and poured water over her. Every part of her body was burned except the face and a spot on the breast the size of a hand. She lived about nine hours after the accident which occurred duirng the absence of the parents at church. The particulars of the deplorable accident are gleaned from the Guardian.
