Belle Blakely Arizona Silver Belt May 28, 1892 Belle Blakely, a colored cyprian, was shot by Sergeant Burrows (colored) of Co. H. 24th Infantry, on Saturday last at Fort Thomas and died on Sunday. The ball passed entirely through her body. Burrows is held in the Solomonville jail on a charge of murder. Belle Blakely was a notorious woman of very bad character and was but recently liberated from the Graham County jail where she was confined eighteen months on a charge of murdering a Mexican and through believed to be guilty was finally acquitted.
