MANUEL BORQUES September 10, 1897 Arizona Republican Newspaper Manuel Borques, wanted in Dana County New Mexico for horse stealing and followed to this county by a deputy sheriff was killed today at Safford by Under Sheriff Ben Olney. Olney arrested borques and was with him in a saloon. Borques jerked a six shooter from the officer's scabbard, fired at him twice, jumped on a horse and fled. Olney followed with a horse, overtaking and killing Borques a mile from town.
