FRANK ELWOD August 8, 1897 Arizona Republican Newspaper Word reached Solomonville Monday of the killing of Frank Elwood foreman of the Turle Cattle Compnay Ranch near Clifton. Elwood was at Metcalf Sunday wearing a six-shooter around the saloons and drinking heavily. He was appraoched by a Mexican deputy constable named Rodelia and told to take off his gun and put it away. Edwood answered him with an oath and made some insulting remark, whereupon the constable left the saloon and procuring a shotgun, returned and opened fire on Elwood with deadly effect. Frank Elwood formerly worked for Hamson's Ranch and was well liked by all the cowmen thought, he was apt to be troublesome.
