JAMES G. COOPER Arizona, The Youngest State, 1913 pg 692 James G. Cooper, cashier of the Arizona Copper Company and one of the most able and trusted men connected with that corporation, was born in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1877. He was reared in his native country and acquired his education in the common schools, remaining in Scotland until 1899 when he came to America and settled immediately in Clifton, where he has since resided. He had received a thorough business training across the water and had become proficient in stenography, his first position being as stenographer to the general manager of the Arizona Copper Company. Through the different departments of the general offices Mr. Cooper rose rapidly. In 1910 he was made purchasing agent and July 1, 1912 was appointed. Mr. Cooper was one of the organizers of the State Bank of Morenci and he was at one time a director in the First National Bank of Clifton.
