Smith conducting. He died Aug. 13 in California. Bishop John A. Taylor offered the family prayer. Jeanna Mosley was at the organ with the ladies ensemble presenting the music. The opening hymn was "Love at Home" with Bishop David B. Bourgeous offering the invocation. Waunda Taylor and Joyce Bourgeous presented the life story with a special number, "Beyond the Sunset," sung. Aulvie K. Bourgeous presented the spiritual remarks with Ordith W. Bourgeous presenting the remarks. The closing hymn was "How Great Thou Art." Edsil L. Bourgeous offered the benediction. Concluding services and interment followed in the Franklin Cemetery, with Bishop Keith W. Bourgeous offering the dedicatory prayer. Serving as casket bearers were John Smith, Daniel Bourgeous, Terry Smith, Lyle Bourgeous, Wayne Bourgeous and Ty Taylor. The honorary bearers were Glendon Smith, Bruce Bourgeous, Dale Bourgeous, Keith Bourgeous, Brett Bourgeous, Jeff Smith, Scott Smith, Shawn Taylor, Brent Bourgeous, and Grant Bourgeous. Bourgeous was born Sept. 28, 1901, in Tucson. He farmed in Franklin for 70 years. He was an active member of the LDS Church, serving for 30 years in positions of bishop, counselor, and ward clerk. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thaddie, in 1974. Surviving are three sons, Ordith of Utah, Edsil of Franklin and Aulvie of Arcadia, Calif.; two daughters, Wanda Taylor of Fremont, Calif., and Eldiva Smith of Ione, Calif.; a sister, Mildred Radeke of Long Beach, Calif; 30 grandchildren, 88 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
