James E. Drane Arizona GENWEB Archives Arizona, the Youngest State, 1913, page 33 Since June 1896, Dr. James E. Drane has been engaged in general practice in Mesa as a physician and surgeon. He has succeeded in building up an extensive and representative patronage and enjoys a high professional reputation. The doctor was born in Missouri on the 18th of August 1872, a son of James E. and Mary Hart (Shaw) Drane, the former a farmer by occupation. Dr. Drane attended the public schools and later took an academic course in the Missouri Valley College. He took up his professional studies in the University Medical College of Kansas City, Missouri, from which he was graduatedin 1896 and in June of that year, made his way to Mesa Arizona where he has since been successful as a physician and surgeon. Her services are in great demand as he is careful in his work. He is seldom at fault in diagnosis and his long experience permits him after coming to a safe conclusion to act decisively in the most complicated cases. His ability has found recognition in the size of his practice. In 1901 Dr. Drane was united in marriage to Miss Edith R. Abell and to this union were born three children: James, Lawrence, Mary Jane, deceased and Jean Muriel.
