the A E R R 15 miles s e of Phoenix the county seat. Has Baptist, Methodist,
Episcopal, Christian and Latter Day Saints Churches, 2 banks, 3 hotels, a
hospital, a library, a flour mill, 3 opera houses, electric light, gas and ice
plants and a commercial club. A daily newspaper the Free Press is published. The
raising of oranges canteloupe melons, live stock and alfalfa are the principal
industries.
