ORA G. GRUNINGER History of Arizona, page 55 Ora G. Gruninger, of Kingman, has gained a wide reputation for his success in the contracting business and is numbered among the representative business men of that locality. He was born in Garfield Kansas on September 16, 1885, and is the only survivor of the three children born to William and Annie (Edick) Gruninger, the other two children having died in infancy. His father, who has practically devoted his entire business career to contracting and building, moved from Kansas to California in 1887 and after living there a short time moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. He has divided his time between New Mexico, California and Arizona and is now in Kingman where he is associated with his son in the contracting business. Ora G. Guninger received his early education in the public schools of Albuquerque, completing the grade work and graduating from high school in Tucson. He attended the University of Arizona one year and had one year's work in St. Vincent's College at Los Angles, after which he was a professional musician for a number of years, traveling throughout the country. In 1908 he quit the road and located in Kingman where he has since been engaged in construction work in association with his father. Mr. Gruninger married Jennie Riley, a native of Illinois and they are the parents of a daughter Rita. He is a member of Kingman Lodge 468, BPOE and throughout the range of his acquaintance he is held in high esteem for he possesses to a marked degree those personal traits which commend a man to the good opinion of his fellowmen.
