MT. TRUMBULL CEMETERY 
The Mt. Trumbull Cemetery is locate approximately fifty-five miles south of St. 
George, Washington County, Utah, in the remote area of northern Arizona, Mohave 
County, known as “The Arizona Strip.” A four-wheel drive vehicle is recommended 
to reach the cemetery. To get to the cemetery, drive south on River Road from 
the intersection of Brigham Road and River Road in St. George, Utah, fifty-three 
and eight tenths ( 53.8) miles to the Poverty Mountain - Parashant turnoff. The 
restored Bundyville schoolhouse sits on the northwest corner of the 
intersection. Turn right (west) at the schoolhouse eight tenths (.8) mile to the 
fork in the road. Take the road to the right (northwest), going through a gate 
one and three tenths (1.3) miles, to the Mt. Trumbull Cemetery. The following 
tombstone transcriptions were done by Sharon Dee Sinsel Welch (welch@sginet.com) 
on 3 April 2001. Sharon is the wife of Charles Walter Welch who is the son of 
Charles Joshua Josh Welch and the grandson of Thomas Hezekiah “Hezzie” Welch. 
Both Hezzie and Josh are buried in the Mt. Trumbull Cemetery.
