BALDY CREIGHTON February 9, 1897 Kingman--The Indians who are on the trail of the man who robbed the westbound passenger train near Peach Springs last night at headed north toward the Grand Canyon; the robber riding a horse and leading another. It was snowing all da, making the trail dim. It is supposed that Donovan, who held up the Southern Pacific and killed a messenger over a year ago, is concerned in the robbery. He is know to have been hiding near the Grand Canyon for a year. The dead robber answers the description of one Baldy Creighton. He wore clothes and carried a rifle stolen from a rancher in the vicinity a month ago. While robbing the train at Peach Springs, he was killed by one A.C. Somers, messenger of Los Angeles. The shot struck him in the left breast just below the heart.
