THOMAS STEEN Arizona Republican Newspaper December 23, 1898 The body of Thomas Steen, one of the oldest inhabitants of Mohave County was found in the valley between Tillman's and Gracy's camp Thursday of last week. Steen was at Tillman's the night before and stated that he would leave the next morning for the Klondyke Mines. It is thought that he started across the valley and becoming ill, died before help reached him. Mr. Steen had been ill for several months past and while in Chloride was reported to be "flighty."
