C.D. ANDERSON History of Arizona, page 511 C.D. Anderson, who has served as a locomotive engineer on the Santa Fe line at Winslow for the past eighteen years, is also prominent in the public affairs of his community. He was born in Painesville, Ohio on December 11, 1884 and is a son of C.T. and Alice (Gale) Anderson. His father was for many years a telegraph operator and station agent for the New York Central Railroad and his death occurred in 1899. Mr. Anderson received his education training in the public schools of Girard Pennsylvania and an academy at that place. In 1905 he went to work on the New York Central Railroad as a firemen and two years later came to Winslow, Arizona where he accepted a similar position with the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad. In 1911 he was promoted to the right side of the cab and is still serving as engineer. On May 30, 1921 he married Irene Freeman of Winslow and they have two children, Dona and Alice.
