CHARLES DEWEY McCAULEY History of Arizona, page 463 The present county attorney of Navajo County, C.D. McCauley, has been engaged in the practice of law in this county for the past six years, during which period he has built up a good practice. He was born in Muncie, Indiana on the 18th day of March 1898 and is a son of Charles and Frieda (Keller) McCauley. His father, who was a railroad engineer by occupation, was long in the employ of the Santa Fe Railroad and went to Gallup, New Mexico in 1884 and in 1901 was transferred in Winslow, Navajo County Arizona of which locality he was one of the first settlers. Mr. McCauley received his early education in the schools of Winslow, to which place the family moved when he was three years old and Albuquerque, New Mexico. He then entered the University of Arizona, from the classical course of which he was graduated with the degree of Bachelor of Science in 1921. He prepared for his life work in the law school of his alma mater, from which he received the Bachelor of Law in 1923. He was at once admitted to the bar and entered practice in Winslow. On January 1, 1929 he moved to Holbrook. On May 12, 1927 he was married to Nina McCamanto, a daughter of J.H. McCamanto, of Winslow. They are the parents of a daughter Myrtle Irene. Mr. McCauley is a member of Winslow Lodge No 13, F&AM, Winslow lodge no. 536, BPOE and the Sigma Nu college fraternity. He is a veteran of the World War for which he enlisted on October 1, 1918, entered officers training at Waco Texas and was honorably discharged in December 1918.
