SIDNEY SAPP Sidney Sapp, who has been engaged in the practice of law in Holbrook since 1909 has long been regarded as one of the leaders of the bar of norhtern Arizona nad is well known throughout the state for his ability. He was born on a farm near Browntown, Fayette County ,Illinois on the 27th day of September 1868 and is a son of Joseph and Kate (Ryan) Sapp. The former followed farming pursuits throughout his active life. In 1879 Mr. Sapp accompanied his parents on their removal to Weaubleau Hickory County, Missouri in the public schools of which place he received his preliminary education. He was a studnet in Christian College at Weaubleau from which he was graduated in 1889 and for several years he taught school in various parts of Missouri. In 1888 Mr. Sapp took up the study of law under the preceptorship of J.B. Upton of Bolivar Missouri and in 1895 at Stockton Missouri he passed the bar examination and was admitted to the practice. He entered on his professional career at Eldorado Springs, Missouri, later moivng to Osceola, that state and in 1904 went to Hominy Oklahoma. There he became prominent in his profession and was appointed postmaster at Hominy. Later he was apointed U.S. Court Commissioner at Ralston where he remained until 1909 when he came to Holbrook, where he has resided to the present time. On June 15, 1910 Judge Sapp was married to Mrs. Alma (Fortner) Spears of Stillwater Oklahoma. To Judge and Mrs. Sapp have been born four chlidren: Irene, Helen, Leon and Gwendolyn.
