JOSEPH H. WHITE History of Arizona, page 499 Joseph H. White, assistant county attorney of Navajo County is one of Holbrook's best known professional men, having, through his ability, industry and integrity, gained a leading place among the lawyers of this section of the state. Mr. White was born in New York City on December 20, 1894 and is a son of Joseph H. SR. and Emily (Humblen) White. His father was for many years, beginning in 1882 connected with the public health service and was active in the performance of duty during the late was, but is now retired. To him and his wife were born four children. Mr. White Jr. received his early education in the public schools of Mobile, Alabama and New Orleans, Louisiana and then entered Bingham Military Academy, at Asheville, North Carolina from which he was graduated in 1912. He attended the University of Virginia one year and then received an appointment to the U.S. Consular Service as Vice Consul at Bahia, Brazil. He remained at that post two years, during a part of which period he had charge of the consulate. He then, returned to this county and in 1917 enlisted for service in the world war, but because of an impairment in his health, was honorably discharged on August 15, 1917. Mr. White then, entered the law school of the University of Denver form which e was graduated in 1925. He was admitted to the bar of Arizona and in that same year entered practice at Phoenix. He met with success from the start and remained in that city two years, coming to Holbrook in 1927. He has appeared as counsel in many of the most important cases tried in the courts of this county. On December 1, 1921 Mr. White married Emma Wehner, of St. Louis, Missouri and they are the parents of two children, Joseph H. III and Edith Mary. Mr. White is a member of Park Avenue Lodge No 262, at Memphis, Tennessee; Tennessee Consistory no 1 AASR and Almas Temple AAONMS at Washington D.C.
