  HOLBROOK. Pop 700. Navajo county. The commercial center of Northern Arizona
and_ the county seat on the A T & S F Ry 155 miles n e of Phoenix the capital.
Has 2 banks and 4 hotels. Two weekly newspapers the Independent and the News are
published. The principal industry is live stock raising and wool growing. A
railroad to the largest timber belt in the Southwest and many new and
substantial buildings are under construction. Holbrook is the gateway to the
world-famous petrified forests.
