King, private, Headquarters Detachment, 340th Field Artillery. For extraordinary heroism in action near Marimbois Farm, France, November 4, 1018. Assisting an officer in establishing communication with the advancing Infantry, Pvt. King reached Marimbois Farm, where he found the place occupied by the enemy. Armed with hand grenades, he advanced on a dugout, where he routed out 17 of the enemy, bringing them back to our lines in the midst of severe shell and machine-gun fire.
