ROBERT CANNON Arizona Republican Newspaper June 2, 1895 Tucson--Robert Cannon, a gambler was shot about 11 o'clock today by his wife, formerly known as Lillie Hopkins. Both were drunk, The couple separated two days ago. Cannon went to her parents home and began abusing her, when she picked up a gun and fired a load of buckshot at him, the charge entering his right side. He died soon afterwards at the hospital. Both were addicted to the use of opium and morphine. They were quarreling over property at the time of the shooting.
