Captain Flores November 18, 1902 Arizona Republican Newspaper Tucson--A story has just been brought here by George F. Joseph of the Santa Maria gold mining company in Mexico telling of the murder by Yaquis of another mining man. Joseph Haynes accompanied by a number of rulaes who went to Yaqui Grande to bring in the body of Captain J.F. Sullivan, the murdered American enigneer, and found the dead body of Captain Flores, a mine owner and operator in the vicinity of San Marial. He, like Sullivan had been attacked bythe Yaquis who killed him and his Mixican servants. It is said that the bodies of the victims were badly mutiliated. General Torres left Hermosillo for the scene of the recent murders to see what can be done with the forces at hand. Various roads of Sonora are said to be infested withYaquis who shoot Mexicans at every opportunity.
