MRS. JOHN HUGHES January 23, 1897 Mrs. John Hughes of Tucson, after a month's illness, died Thursday. The deceased had for many years been in frail health, being afflicted with pulmonary troubles, but her will power and cheerful surroundings kept up her spirits and she resented the inroads of the insidious disease which sooner or later conquers. The deceased was a devout Christian, a noble and devoted wife and a tender mother beloved by all who knew her. Her husband and son, Phil Hughes are left to mourn her death.
