JACOB LANDES Sep 6, 1896 Tucsons: Word was received in this city last night of the killing and robbery of Jacob Landes, a rancher who lived twenty miles west of here. Wakefield Brothers, his nearest neighbors were notified today by some Mexicans that something appeared to be wrong on the Landes homestead and upon investigation they were horrifed to find Landes body in the well, whee it had evidently been three or four days. Landes was about 60 years old, lived alone and it is believed he had some money. The only clue to the murderer was a roll of strange blankets found in the house on the floor.
