LOTTIE MAPES October 11, 1895 Arizona Republican Newspaper The funeral of Lottie Mapes, who was killed by being thrown from a hand car on Saturday monring last, took place on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock under the auspices of the Knights of Pythias. The remains were taken to the Congregational Church where services were held and thence to the N.M. and A. depot where a special train was waiting to convey the body to the cemetery. Two coaches were hardly sufficient to accomodate the number of friends who had gathered to show sympathy for the bereaved family.
