Ramsey was born in Chickasaw, Mississippi. He practiced carpentry for years in Tucson and was a member of the carpenters' union. His wife Emma Ramsey died here in 1941. She had been a steady contributor to the "Happy Day" column of the Arizona Daily Star, writing under the name of "Aunt Em." Surviving Mr. Ramsey are two daughters, two sons, four sisters, three brothers, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. His daughters are Mrs. Irene Renner, San Diego, and Mrs. Margaret Hoffman, Merced, Calif. The sons are Fred C. Ramsey, San Diego, and Al J. Ramsey, Tucson. The four sisters are: Mrs. Nannie Fleeting, Garden Grove, Calif.; Mrs. Minnie Bird, Kenmore, New York; Mrs. Ima Hill, Terrell, Oaklahoma (sic); and Mrs. Myrtle Gardener of Oakcliff, Texas. Boyette Ramsey, Belleville, Ill., Curtis Ramsey, Tarlton, Tex.; and Henry J. Ramsey, McAllen, Tex. are surviving brothers. The funeral services will be held at Bring's Chapel at 2 p.m. Saturday. Burial will follow in Evergreen cemetery.
