RAMSEY, Edna Benham, 80, died May 27, 1990.  Born September 20, 1909 in Elk 
City, OK.  Moved to Tempe, AZ in 1923 then to Tucson in 1926.  In Tucson is 
where Edna met Al Ramsey and they were married November 26, 1926.  Edna 
graduated from Gatlin Business College.  She was the bookkeeper and office 
manager for Ramsey Paint Company.  She became one of the first female 
contractors in the state of Arizona.  While Al was serving in the Military 
during WWII, Edna contracted for the Paint Company finishing all the jobs that 
were lined up and running the paint crew.  Edna was a member of the Eastern 
Star, Charter Member of the Daughters of the Nile, and Ladies Oriental Shrine, 
Member of Catalina Methodist Church and volunteered at the Crippled Children's 
Clinic.  Preceded in death by her son, Ben Ramsey.  Survived by husband, Al 
Ramsey; son and daughter-in-law, Budd and Martha Ramsey of Las Vegas, NV; 
daughter-in-law, Peggy Ramsey; and sister, Mildred Barnett, both of Tucson.  
Also survived by 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.  Funeral 
Services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday May 30, 1990 at BRING'S MEMORIAL 
CHAPEL, 236 S. Scott with Rev. William Merwin and Daughters of the Nile, Olana 
Chapter 31 officiating.  Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.  Friends 
may call at the chapel from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 29, 1990.  
Family request contributions to Crippled Children's Clinic, 2916 E. Broadway, 
Tucson, 85716 or charity of one's choice.
