HENRY WHITLOCK June 11, 1896 Henry Whitlock, a boy of 13 shot and instantly killed himself at Mammoth last Friday afternoon. He was the stepson of E.E. Putnam, bookkeeper for E.W. Childs. No one knows how the shooting occurred but it was doubtless accidental. The boy was alone in a room at his home. His mother in an adjoining room heard the discharge of a revolver. When she entered the room her son was already dead. The ball had entered the left breast and had passed nearly through the body.
