MRS. W.V. WHITMORE November 25, 1898 The funeral ceremonies for the remains of Mrs. W.V. Whitmore were held yesterday afternoon at the Methodist Church of which the deceaesd had been a member. The services were conducted under the auspices of the lodge of the AOUW, many members of which were present. President Parker of the University made a very appropriate address, touching the lesson which such occasions suggest. His thoughts were unusually befitting the hour. Rev.Foley, the pastor of the church delivered a short sermon. The choir sang several selections. The church was filled with friends of the deceased and family. The remains were followed from the church to the grave by a large number of poeple in carriages where the usual services were observed. In the death of Mrs. Whitmore, Tucson has lost one of its noblest Christian women, who was beloved by all who knew her. She leaves a devoted husband and a little son to mourn their bereavement. The many friends of the family in this city will sympathize with them in their loss. November 23, 1898 Mrs. Dr. W.V. Whitmore died last night, Nov. 21 after an illness of a few days. While for a day or two her condition was known to the family to be critical the general public did not know of her sickness until the announcement of her death. Dr. and Mrs. Whitmore came to Tucson about eight years ago and duirng that time Mrs. Whitmore has won the high esteem and strong friendship of very many friends. She was only 32 years of age.
