Tom BOUSE Arizona Republican Newspaper, Jan. 17, 1909 Tom Bouse of the city of Bouse, original owner of the town of Bouse, original setttler of the Bouse Valley and the little big man of Bouse is in Phoenix. He came in yesterday to close up a mining deal. In fact, he came in to close up two mining deals and closed them up too. He and his partner R. McMahan came in together and stopped at the Ford. McMahan is also an old resident of the Bouse Valley, having lived there nearly as long as Bouse. They have been mining and prospecting together and have some valuable claim. Well they sold two of their properties they are not out of the mining business because they also have many more good claims to develop and sell. They have such great faith in the future of that country that for the past six years they have been putting in all of their time doing assessment work on their claims, knowing that the time would come when all of that country would be a great mining field and then they could sell their claim at good prices. Both of these men are jolly good fellows and the kind one meets in the hills, the kind who will divide their bed and chuck whenever one comes across their camp. They are old timers in western Arizona and acquainted with the odd stirring times of frontier days. "I have always had great faith in our country out at Bouse," said Mr. Bouse at the Ford last night. "We now have a booming town and I feel that it is going to make a good sized town soon. We have some good enterprising men hold of the townsite now and they are going to make a success of it. I have an interest in the townsite and also have some valley land adjoining the townsite. A lot of people have come in lately and we have a lot of houses being built. I am going out home on the excursion train Sunday and I want to get as many Phoenix people, as will do so, to stop off and see us. I think we have the best climate and the best water in western Arizona."
