J.L. GIROUX History of Arizona, 1896 J.L. Giroux, well and favorably known in connection with the United Verde Copper Company of Jerome, has been a resident of Arizona since 1888. He was born at Montreal, Canada, in the year 1856, but when a boy came to the United States and was reared at Kankakee, Ill., where he received a good, practical education. He learned the machinists trade at Clinton, Illinois, was engaged in railroading for two years, but for the past twenty one years has been engaged in mining in Montana, Utah and Arizona. Mr. Giroux is one of the keen wide awake business men of Arizona and is a credit to the territory.
