MAY CARD Arizona Republican Newspaper August 14, 1904 Mrs. May Card died yesterday afternoon about 2:15 o'clock at her home at No. 419 South Center Street after an illness of about six weeks. She was a most estimable young woman, beloved by all who knew her and having lived here sometime her untimely death will be mourned by a wide circle of friends. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Peterson, who reside a few miles west of Phoenix and was only in her nineteenth year. She was married to Walter Card on the 11th of may but a few days after her eighteenth birthday. Only a few weeks after or about the Fourth of July she was taken ill and since then gradually declined until her eyes closed in the last sleep. Mr. Card who has lived here almost from childhood has many friends who sympathize deeply with him in his bereavement.
