DUGGAN September 24, 1901 On last Saturday W.J. Duggan, an old and well known resident of this section, met a horrible death at one of the camps of the Saginaw and Manistoe Lumber Company south of town. He was employed on one of the skid ways in piling up the logs ready for shipment to the mill here, when the timber supporting the enormous load gave way. Immediately the logs began to roll toward him, and in trying to escape he lost his footing and fell. Several large logs passed over him, crushing out his life. The remains were brought to this city and under the direction of Undertaker J.S. Button were interred in the cemetery last Sunday. Williams News.
