CHARLIE MEADOWS Arizona Republican Newspaper October 3, 1895 "Arizona Charlie", otherwise known as Charlie Meadows, the well known Tonto Basin cowboy is now returned from Mexico where he has been starring for over a year and is now working Colorado with a Wild West show. He appears to be decidedly in the swim, despite occasional setbacks, one of which happened in Denver Sunday. He had advertised a Wild West show, to be followed by a genuine bull fight and a large crowd assembled at the Denver wheel club grounds to witness the exhibition. Humane Agent Thompson entered the ring just as the bull fight began and the crowd, seeing him, began to hoot and yell. Charlie and his assistants tried to chase Thompson out by a show of force, but the officer had addistance and the participants wre placed under arest and brought to the city, amid the jeers of a disappointed audience.
