J.P. Bruce, freighter, was drowned while crossing Wolf Creek, 
four miles from Mayer, this afternoon.  George P. Harrington of 
Crowned King escaped.  He was washed against a tree. Bruce's 
body, the team and buckboard have not been found. Heavy rains 
have fallen throughout the county all day.
