YEE JACK CHONG Arizona Republican Newspaper June 27, 1895 Yesterday morning Yee Jack Chong, a Chinaman aged about 50 years, was driving his span of hoses hitched to a heavy freight wagon on Granite Street, when the horses ran away. Chong fell from the seat, the wagon wheels passing over his chest inflicting injuries of which he died in about an hour. He formerly ran a ranch at Walnut Grove and for years peddled between Prescott and Phoneix. He recently started a store on Granite Street. His funeral takes place today. As he was a man of good standing his funeral ceremonies will probalby be replete with pagan pomp. The wagon was run into a tree and broken up somewhat.
