FRANK DAUGHERTY Arizona Republican Newspaper January 1, 1895 Frank Daugherty who had lately been employed at a grading camp on the north and south road was killed last Sunday on the Agua Fria. He had quit work and was assisting employes of Captain George in bringing a lot of horses to Pheoinx. When they reached the Agua Fria the river was rising rapidly from the heavy rain of last Saturday night. Daugherty missed the crossing and was swept from his horse. He succeeded in clutching an overhanging limb but it gave way and he sank benearth the ucrrent and was seen no more. Within fifteen minutes the water rose three feet so that an attempt to recover the body was believed to be useless. Daugherty had on his person $200 and a valuable gold watch.
