JACOB T. HANES Arizona Republican Newspaper November 7, 1895 Prescott--Jacob T. Hanes, general manager for Hon. John S. Jones of Chaparral, died yesterday morning at the Whipple hospital, after a lingering illness. The deceased was born in the state of New York and came to this territory for the McFarlan Brothers of Colorado Springs to erect a stamp mill on the Hassayampa on mines in which Dr. Hunter and others were interested some six years ago. After this he spent some time in the Santa Maria country. He was one of the first to go to Chaparral where Mr. Jones secured his services and where he has been ever since the camp first started, being an honest and trusted employee. Deceased was a widower and leaves two daughters, one married and the other single in Denver. He was 58 years of age.
